Building a Better Boardman!
Boardman Township is currently in the process of updating the Boardman Township Zoning Resolution as a step toward implementing the 2017 Boardman Township Strategic Planning and Zoning Action Plan. The zoning resolution contains the regulations that address how properties can be used within different areas of the township, as well as site design elements such as signage, landscaping, parking, and access. The purpose of this website is to provide a location where interested citizens can keep up to date on the progress of the project, download draft documents, and provide feedback on the project. Feel free to click on Project Files (link or menu tab above) where there are links to the current zoning resolution as well as other relevant documents. As new documents and draft regulations are developed, we will post them to the site.
Upcoming Events: Adoption
The adoption process for the Boardman Township Zoning Resolution update was temporarily delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Township Trustees have now initiated the adoption process. Below is a link to the public hearing draft of the resolution and zoning map. This draft has not substantially changed since the previous drafts although the township staff and consultants have continued to work on refining language and finalizing graphics as well as preparing a draft zoning map (also linked below). In order to become the official zoning for Boardman Township, the resolution and map must be reviewed by both the Township Zoning Commission and Township Trustees with the Trustees having the final decision-making authority. If approved by the Trustees, the new zoning will become effective on January 1, 2021.
